For Pastors
and Leaders Only
From the Desk of Tim Prewitt
General Director, World Reach, Inc.
For more than twenty-seven years of service
in cross-cultural missions, I continue to find an increasing number
of mission-minded churches seeking new methods of supporting missions
around the world. In reading through 2nd Corinthians 8: 1-5, I
am reminded of the basis to joyful and abundant giving to the Lord's
work. The Apostle Paul noted three significant characteristics
of the saints in the Macedonian churches:
- They gave beyond their
ability. (verse 3)
- They appealed/asked to be able to give
to the need (verse 4). Wow!! What a testimony.
- And, all
of this was caused by the fact that “they gave first of themselves.” (Verse
5)
This, I argue, is the primary basis that
caused the church to give joyfully and abundantly to the needs.
Today, we face unprecedented
ministry opportunities and I am convinced that if we, the local
missions-minded church, want to see significant things accomplished
for the cause of Christ in global missions, we must first give
of ourselves. God
expects it – God
deserves it!!
Project S.O.W. provides the impetus
for this to happen. At last, a way to first involve your people
and then watch the Lord provide abundant resources for global
missions. This process can literally change your church!
Using
Project S.O.W in one particular church that had previously
funded overseas projects through free will offerings experienced
a 33% increase in giving. WOW!! I believe the potential is
there for even greater giving.
Pastor/missions chairman, Project
S.O.W. can add an additional dimension and strength to your
missions program and increase your church's capacity to reach
new levels of mission involvement. As one pastor stated, “I
heartily recommend this practical tool to further God's Kingdom
and grow God's people.”
Let me encourage
you to contact us today for further information regarding
this church-changing experience.
